The reporter calls black football players “coloured” during a report about racism

The reporter calls black football players “coloured” during a report about racism in football on Wednesday 22/02/2012.

The journalist was covering the summit held by David Cameron on racism in football with leading black footballers including John Barnes and Jason Roberts. That is amazing someone, who is reporting about anti-racism, uses such an offensive word himself.

The incident happened after Alan Hansen was forced to apologise for using the same word on Match of the Day.

The pundit, who reportedly earns £40,000 a show, said 'coloured' twice during the BBC1 programme as he talked about racism in the game in December. Read the story here.

Unfortunately, these racist insults are very common in British Television as one of the BBC’s guests on Newsnight was also accused of racist outburst during a televised discussion about the protests in London when he said "the problem is that the whites have become black".
